It’s summer and the perfect time to take advantage of what Pennsylvania parks offer. One thing you can count on is the thousands of miles of walking trails. Empire Services recently created some in Minsi Lake Park in Bangor, PA. Minsi Lake Park is within the Greater Minsi Lake Corridor Greenway (identified as the Lehigh Valley Greenways Plan). The Greater Minsi Lake Corridor Greenway is one of two Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission-operated lakes in Northampton County, and offers hiking trails, walking trails, picnic areas, fishing, boating, wetlands, and woodlands. Empire Services added to the existing walking trails in the park as part of the park’s rehabilitation.
Northampton County Parks and Recreation through Wilmer R. Schultz, Inc. contracted Empire Services to construct phase one of the Minsi Lake rehabilitation project. The project consists of building walking trails with many branches in two sections linking the west side of the lake to the east side. The trail is almost one half mile in distance.
Some of the trail sections that connect to parking areas at either end of the lake feature concrete slabs with picnic tables and seating areas, whereas the eastern trails lead to a new modern prefabricated restroom facility.
The Empire Services team excavated and prepared for the new paved pedestrian trails, concrete slabs and foundations for the new restroom structure. Some of the equipment utilized on this unique project included excavators, skid steers, rollers as well as a subcontracted crane service to place the new restroom structure.
The new trail connects to a parking lot on either end of the lake. The project is scheduled to be completed by September 2023. We can’t wait to see the finished trail. Contact us today to learn more !
